THE GOOD
NEWS
What is the Good News?
The Good News is the royal announcement that King Jesus has come — and His Kingdom is breaking in right now.
Too often the Good News has been distilled into a palatable story about how we get to heaven when we die. Yes, God wants you with Him forever. But what we often imagine “heaven” means, and how we think that happens, is not the heart of the biblical narrative.
At its core, the Good News is the story of God making all things new. It the true story about how Jesus lived the faithful life we could not live, died the representative death that defeated sin and the powers, and rose victorious as the beginning of God’s new creation. The Good News is, that In Christ, God’s ancient promises are fulfilled and the renewal of all things has already begun.
Why is it Good News?
It is good news because it means the long story of God’s faithfulness has reached its turning point.
Sin fractured our relationship with God, with each other, and with creation. All of the chaos and suffering we see in this world flows from that fracture — but it has been decisively dealt with in Jesus. The powers that oppress us have been defeated. Death does not get the last word. God is not distant — He has come near in Jesus and is restoring everything, beginning right now.
What does this Good News mean for me?
It means you are invited into real life with God as part of His renewed people — today.
Through faith in King Jesus, you are forgiven, reconciled to the Father, set free, and filled with the Holy Spirit. You are no longer defined by what is broken. You are a beloved child in God’s family, learning to live the Kingdom life in your everyday world. Your ordinary days matter. Your relationships, work, and neighborhood become places where God’s renewal can break through.
Where to Start
Start right where you are by responding to King Jesus.
Tell Him you want to follow Him. If you haven’t been baptized, talk with us about that. Join a local church family (like Nu Church) where you can learn to live this story together in community. Begin reading one of the Gospels — Mark is a great place to start. Keep it simple: pray, read, belong, and watch how God begins to make things new in you and around you.
There is hope! The Creator of the universe has made a way for all that He intended His creation to be — a reality, even now and forever, in Jesus Christ!
How do I share this Good News?
You share it by living it and telling the story naturally.
Live as a citizen of the Kingdom: love your neighbors, seek justice, practice forgiveness, and show mercy.
Tell the story: “Here’s who Jesus is, what He has done, and what He is doing in my life.”
Invite people in: Share meals, listen to their stories, and welcome them into community.
The Gospel spreads best through communities that actually embody the renewal they proclaim.
