GENEROSITY CHANGES LIVES
GIVE
WHY
GENEROSITY?
Generosity is not primarily about giving money or resources. It is about participation in God’s life, His work, and His Kingdom. When we live generously, we participate in what God is doing by (1) stewarding His creation, (2) loving Him, and (3) loving others, by releasing resources freely.

Our church community believes living in the way of Jesus is inclusive of every area of our lives. We are taught a model of radical generosity through the Bible that extends into the area of finance. It is our belief that all we have comes from God and that we are to wisely steward all we have been given. Paul instructed the early church in Corinth to grow in generosity toward God and others with an intentional, cheerful resolve. We believe this instruction was not only for the early church, but for all of us today. Learn More...
The Bible teaches us to wisely steward all we have been given. God consistently defines our relationship with him as a partnership. All that we have is His, and He knows how to best use everything created for the highest possible good. The simple truth is faith and finances are intimately linked. The central question of the Biblical story remains the same even when we talk about money: Will we live open-handed, trusting God by participating in His world? Or will we live with mistrust, trying to build our own life by keeping what we have for ourselves? Giving is about letting go and trusting God to show us the kind of life we were always meant to live with God. Learn More...
Tithing is a powerful discipline that directly counters our natural drift toward self-prioritization. The word "tithe" means a "tenth." In the Ancient Near East, a "tithing" was an acknowledgment that the land, victory, and resources ultimately belonged to the god/king. A tenth was enough to show honor, but not so much that it would destroy the giver. This tradition existed long before Abraham, who did not acknowledge an earthly king or a local god, but rather recognized the One True God to whom all he owned belonged, and it was continued by Jacob and Israel as the nation grew. Jesus never calls for the end of this kind of generous recognition. Instead, in His many teachings on money, He calls His followers to an even greater life of radical, open-handed generosity. The goal is not hitting a precise number. The goal is a heart that is increasingly open-handed — participating in God’s work as Christ’s life flows through us. Learn More...
