We exist to participate in Jesus’ ongoing work of making all things new.
Living as a community being shaped into the image of Christ for the sake of others.
OUR VISION
OUR
NAME
“Nu” is the phonetic spelling of new and is used in many contexts, but our choice in using this spelling goes deeper than just a ploy to be unique.
We have experienced that in life and faith, what seems simple often holds surprising depth, like the Greek letter itself, Nu (ν), which has carried, through the centuries, meanings of freedom, possibility, and new creation. It is a single letter that is rarely observed, and yet it keeps showing up wherever humans are searching for truth.
That’s exactly the kind of thing we want to be about.
Spending our time discovering a God who has always worked this way, through the ordinary, the overlooked, the small and seemingly simple. This makes the name Nu a claim about how renewal actually happens: not through performance, but through faithfulness. Not in spite of the everyday, but right in the middle of it.
We exist to participate with King Jesus in the work of making all things new, and we believe this work is woven into the everyday moments we often overlook, making even the simplest of experiences significant in God’s work of renewal.
Welcome to Nu Church. Where all things become nu.
OUR VALUES
WE VALUE TRANSFORMATION
We believe spiritual formation is a part of everything we do, and that it follows a natural progression: It begins with Curiosity… leads to Imagination… deepens into Informed Belief… and is ultimately worked out in Community.
BE
CURIOUS
We ask honest questions and pursue truth without fear. We believe God welcomes our doubts, wonderings, and pursuit of Him. We create space for thoughtful exploration of Scripture, theology, and life so that our faith and relationships can be real, deep, and resilient.
EMBRACE
IMAGINATION
Believing God does new things in old and ordinary places. We refuse to settle for boring, predictable Christianity. We expect the Holy Spirit to inspire fresh expressions of worship, prayer, community, and mission.
PURSUE INFORMED
BELIEF
Loving God with our minds as well as our hearts. We are committed to learning, growing in theological depth, and allowing truth to shape how we live.
TRANSFORMATION
HAPPENS IN COMMUNITY
We are shaped into Christ’s image together, for the sake of others, as a multi-ethnic, multi-generational family. We are what we love. We become what we practice.
Our Core Values shape our behavior and keep us focused on participating in Jesus’ ongoing work of making all things new.
OUR BELIEFS
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe God is making all things new through King Jesus — and that renewal is happening right now.
We are learning to live inside this story together. The Good News of King Jesus shown to us in the living pages of Scripture, lived out through the daily filling of the Holy Spirit, as the community of God — the church — where all of it takes root and spreads. We see the following, not just as separate doctrines, but one living invitation from the Triune God who is calling us into deeper relationship with Him and into His ongoing work of restoration in our world.
THE GOOD NEWS
We believe the Good News is the royal announcement that King Jesus has come and His Kingdom is breaking in right now.
From the beginning, God has been writing the story of making all things new. Sin fractured our relationship with God, with one another, and with creation, bringing chaos, pain, and separation into every part of life.
He called Israel to be the vessel of His rescue plan, promising to bless and restore the whole world through them. As humanity failed, so too Israel failed. But in the fullness of time, Jesus entered that broken story as the true Israel and faithful human. He lived the life of loving obedience Israel and humanity could not live. He died the representative death that defeated sin and the powers, and He rose victorious as the beginning of God’s new creation. In His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus fulfilled God’s ancient promises to Israel and inaugurated the renewal of all things.
This means it is not just a distant future hope, rather, the Good News declares that God’s making-new work has already begun. Through faith in King Jesus, we are reconciled to the Father, forgiven, set free, and invited into real life as part of His renewed people, today and forever.
And this renewal advances as His Kingdom spreads through ordinary people gathered in His Church.
THE BIBLE
We believe the Bible is the living story of God making all things new. And this story is the grand narrative He invites us into for relationship with Him.
It is not a rulebook to master or a text to control. Through its pages, we discover who God is by watching what He does. We see His faithful love unfolding in real time and space as He calls a people, makes promises, and pursues humanity even when we wander. At the heart of this story is God’s covenant with Abraham: the promise to form a nation through which He would bless every family on earth and restore what sin had broken.
This story is messy, beautiful, and full of grace. It finds its surprising fulfillment in King Jesus, the true Seed of Abraham, who embodies Israel’s calling and accomplishes what no one else could. Now, that same renewing story is carried forward through His Church, the renewed people of God.
Scripture, as God has inspired it, is perfect and vital. It shapes us, corrects us, and equips us to live rightly with God and others. When we step humbly into its original context rather than forcing it to fit our agendas, the Bible becomes clear and begins to shape our story as we learn to recognize God’s ongoing work of renewal in our own lives and in our world, right now.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe the Holy Spirit is God, the renewing presence of the Father and the Son, who is actively filling and gifting His people today to live as His Kingdom people here on earth.
From the beginning, the Spirit has hovered over chaos, bringing order and life. He empowered Israel, rested on craftsmen, prophets and kings, and descended in fullness on Jesus. Now, poured out at Pentecost, the Holy Spirit fills His people, the Church, as the primary agents of God’s making-all-things-new project.
Today, He gifts ordinary men and women with everything we need to live as Jesus’ witnesses; empowering us to love, serve, heal, speak truth, create, and proclaim the Kingdom in our time and place. Where sin brought fracture, the Spirit brings freedom, unity, and transformation. He forms us into a renewed community that reflects the life of the Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in perfect, self-giving relationship.
The Spirit’s ongoing work is not just about comforting us, but also about commissioning and equipping us to join what God is doing right now as He makes all things new through ordinary people surrendered to King Jesus.
THE CHURCH
We believe the Church is the renewed people of God. The community where heaven and earth meet, and the story of making all things new is displayed.
Born at Pentecost by the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, the Church is the body of King Jesus and the temple where God dwells by His Spirit. We are not a building or an organization; we are ordinary people from every nation, reconciled to the Father and to one another, learning to live as the faithful continuation of Israel’s story fulfilled in Christ.
As His primary agents of change in the world, the local church embodies the Kingdom in everyday life as sins are forgiven, relationships are restored, gifts are released, and ordinary men and women join God’s renewal project; healing what is broken, proclaiming freedom, and bearing witness that Jesus is Lord.
This is God’s surprising way of renewing creation: through simple, gathered communities surrendered to King Jesus. The same renewing power that raised Christ from the dead is at work today, making all things new.
